About Me

A PM for the middle layer of the global enterprise.

Shannon Zhou

I'm Shannon, a product manager with four+ years of experience building enterprise systems at a global tech company, across badge, visitor, workplace, and internal feedback products.

I focus on products that make complex organizations easier to operate — through clear workflows, reliable data models, thoughtful permissions, and scalable global compliance design.

How I work

Model the mess

Internal systems are rarely simple. I break down messy policies, regional exceptions, approval rules, and operational dependencies into models that can be configured, measured, and maintained.

Put AI on real signals

I am interested in AI when it works on real operational data: feedback, tickets, policies, approvals, exceptions, and user behavior. The challenge is not only prompting — it is building the taxonomy, review loop, and trust layer around the model.

Stay close to the floor

I spend time with the people behind the workflow: guards, receptionists, facilities teams, admins, and operators across regions. The best product decisions often come from watching where the process breaks.

Ship calm systems

For internal users, good software should feel quiet. It should make the next step obvious, handle edge cases honestly, and reduce the need for someone to ask another team what went wrong.

What I Do Off-Screen

Outside work, I like films, travel notes, city walks, musicals, and small attempts at making things myself — from a personal website to an Aperol spritz. I live in Shanghai with my five-year-old British Shorthair cat, but most weekends I'm probably in a different coordinate.

I'm curious in a slightly inconsistent way: I like trying new things, abandoning some of them, and keeping the ones that still make me pay attention.
